Objective
Project aims to empower and engage youth in understanding and promoting inclusive urban design, fostering a more accessible and equitable environment for all.
SO1: To enhance youth understanding of accessible urban design and promote inclusive participation.
SO2: To equip youth workers with innovative informal and non-formal learning tools and methods, fostering inclusivity and teaching them the importance of urban spaces that accommodate the needs of disabled youth and prevent intolerance.
SO3: To strengthen the connection between policymakers and local youth, facilitating policymaking related to accessible and youth-friendly urban design.
Activities
Five work packages will contain several activities, which will form the URB.ABLE project. Specifically:

Urban Foxes is a Brussels-based non-profit primarily involved in placemaking, youth work, sustainability education, and urban pedagogy. Their main activities focus on improving urban health and inclusivity by engaging forgotten stakeholders, focusing on youth, and fostering co-created public spaces. They use a wide range of non-formal educational tools to empower communities to actively participate in urban transformation. UF combines local & European projects to foster healthier, more inclusive cities through a glocal approach (both global and local perspectives).

RESET aims to “create prosperous and inclusive societies” through Research, Education and Dialogue. As coordinator and partner in more than 30+ EU (Erasmus+, ISF-P, H2020) and International projects (University of Queensland-Australia, Davis Projects for Peace-US) we undertake high-quality management and implementation while achieving a high dissemination reach across our projects (more than 10 million reach on one project alone).

Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Gaia (Partner)
Gaia Municipal Youth Office is situated on Gaia city center and it is responsible for implementing projects that are under the umbrella on the Gaia Municipal Youth Plan. Our staff daily deals with relevant projets, such as participatory budgeting, European youth card issuing, Europe Youth Store, scholarships, etc. All the activities are implemented after listening to opinions and suggestions of the young people. Our Youth Council is very active and, besides regular and legal activities, they are responsible for monitoring Municipal Youth Plan. Right now, we are working together with Social Observatory of Porto University in order to make studies that can reach all tentacles of youth. in fact, our main goal is to reach all the youths!

EAHR is a non-profit organization that works towards strengthening the representation of disadvantaged groups through architecture and urban planning. At the heart of the association is the belief that an active involvement and participation in collaborative processes can strengthen societal coherence, build up new skills, and help bring about more resilient communities. To innovate in the field of participatory design and community involvement our team spans across disciplines such as architecture and anthropology and includes technical skillsets from audio and visual communication. The organization comprises 4-6 salaried persons and usually a total of 2-5 associated volunteers/interns.

Since 2005, CGE Erfurt e.V. has implemented educational programs that place learners and communities as active agents of their learning processes.Through research, cooperation, and long-term engagement, we work with the spaces of social entrepreneurship, urban planning, climate action, migrant civic engagement, and more. Within the framework of non-formal education, CGE empowers participants and communities as active agents in their learning journey.
